Abstract

Electrical energy is one of the most important and vital needs of modern society. The absence of electrical energy will greatly disrupt the continuity of human activities. Therefore the balance and availability of electrical energy needs to be maintained at all times. The electrification ratio of Indonesia is currently 87%, it shows 8.5 million people in Indonesia or equivalent to 2500 villages that have not been electrified.  in Indonesia. Indonesia's geographical location is one of the causes of many areas that have not been reached by the State Electricity Company (PLN) such as Selaru island at the southern tip of West Southeast Maluku regency. Indonesia is a tropical country that has solar energy potential with an average daily insolation of 4.5 – 4.8 kWh / m2 / day. So that solar energy becomes a potential renewable energy source to be developed in Indonesia.
